Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters is a Japanese anime series based on Kazuki Takahashi's Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. The show follows the adventures of Yugi Mutou, a timid boy who loves all sorts of games, but is often bullied around. One day, he solves an ancient artifact known as the Millennium Puzzle, causing his body to play host to a mysterious spirit with the personality of a gambler. From that moment onwards, Yugi and his friends are caught up in a variety of duels and other events as they attempt to help Yugi become the King of Games. Alongside Yugi are his best friends Katsuya Jonouchi and Anzu Mazaki, along with their classmate Hiroto Honda. Together they battle villains such as Seto Kaiba, Maximillion Pegasus and Dartz.
