In her earliest memories, Yuuki recalls being assaulted by a vampire on a stormy winter night and then being rescued by another vampire named Kaname Kuran. Yuuki, the Cross Academy principal's adopted daughter, has grown up and is now a Guardian ten years later. She ensures that the Night Class's secret is kept from the Day Class (humans) (vampires). Her childhood buddy Zero Kiryuu, whose parents were murdered by the pure-blood vampire Shizuka Hiou, is standing by her side.
At first glance, this cohabitation seems wonderful, but have all the vampires truly put their bloodlust behind them, or is there something more going on? How will Kaname's love for Yuki turn out?
