Shinjirou Hayata's tale is depicted in Ultraman, an anime version of the manga by Eiichi Shimizu and Tomohiro Shimoguchi. Shinjirou, whose father Shin Hayata was the original Ultraman, is one day attacked by unidentified creatures, but Ultraman quickly arrives to save the day. After the battle, Ultraman Shin takes off his mask and introduces himself to his kid for the first time as the hero that he is. When Shinjirou finds that he has inherited his father's Ultraman element, he does not hesitate to help him in combat and nothing will ever be the same for him from this point on.
A brand-new peril exists underground in a world where the kaiju threat has all but been forgotten, and only a brand-new hero can stop it—an all-new Ultraman!
