Tokyo Ghoul:re follows the story of Haise Sasaki, a half ghoul, half human who is tasked to lead a special team of CCG investigators called “Quinx”. The Quinx squad is composed of humans who have undergone a surgery to implant a kakuhou, a special organ that gives them the ability to use ghoul powers.
The Quinx squad is assigned to investigate the mysterious organization Aogiri Tree, which is composed of ghouls, and to take down the ghoul king. As the story progresses, Haise must come to terms with his identity and his past, while fighting against the ever-growing threat of the Aogiri Tree.
