The Rising of the Shield Hero Cosplay

We follow the day-to-day activities of Naofumi Iwatani, a student who leads a peaceful and contented college life, in the anime adaptation of the light novel "The Rising of the Shield Hero." At the age of 20, Naofumi still enjoys the privileges of a son: he lives at home and, thanks to his pocket money, does not have to work while studying. When his younger brother was in danger of straying from the straight and narrow, Naofumi did everything in his power to bring him back to his senses. As a result of this, and out of gratitude and appreciation on the part of his parents, he continues to enjoy these privileges. But when he finds a book in the library that has a brief story about four heroes and a few blank pages, his dreamy otaku life is about to come to an abrupt end.

Inadvertently transported to a medieval-style realm when he flicks through the blank pages in this manner, Naofumi finds himself in a throne room with three other young men under the careful eye of the king and his court as he regains awareness. Motoyasu Kitamura has a spear, Ren Amaki has a sword, and Itsuki Kawasumi has a bow; all three have been granted their own weapons. Of course, Naofumi himself didn't leave empty-handed either, as he possesses... a shield? The four young men have been called to another world as "heroes" to defend it from terrible creatures, as shown by a brief dialogue with the monarch and his counselors. Naofumi, the shield hero, has no success, whereas the three armed heroes can quickly assemble supporters around them. He is not only unfamiliar with the rules of video games set in this universe, but he also appears to be the least liked of all the heroes. But when the lovely Myne Suphia joins him, his heart leaps. The two go to a vendor in armor and weapons, who equips them first before starting their first quest—weak beasts are waiting for them! They decide to go to an inn and spend the rest of the evening peacefully after finding some dead monsters, and Naofumi gets some rest so she can be ready for the next day.

The royal guard, not Myne, is there to greet him when he awakens the following morning. His resources and cash? Gone! What had taken place? Had he been mugged during the night? But as the guards lead him to the royal room, it becomes clear that he was tricked rather than the victim of a heist. Naofumi is on his own, without supplies or resources, shunned as a criminal, and all he has left is his simmering resentment of everyone who has harmed him. Just quit up and pass away? He won't allow that; he will make them pay instead! The "Rise of the Shield Hero" and his quest for retribution officially start now!
