The Empire of Corpses is a Japanese science fiction action anime film directed by Ryoutarou Makihara. It is based on the novel of the same name written by Project Itoh. The story follows John Watson, a medical student in 19th century London who discovers a way to bring people back from the dead using alchemy. With his newfound power, he embarks on a quest to find "The One", an immortal being that holds the secret to eternal life. Along the way he meets many strange characters, including Frankenstein's monster and other resurrected corpses, as well as various criminals and mad scientists. As he continues his search for The One, Watson must also face off against powerful forces that seek to use him and his discoveries for their own sinister purposes.
