Saiyuki is an adventure story that follows the priest Sanzo and his three companions, the monkey king Son Goku, Cho Hakkai (a man with a demon's past) and Sha Gojyo (a half-demon). Together they travel west in order to stop the resurrection of Gyumaoh, an ancient evil being. Along their journey they must battle various demons and other obstacles. As they get closer to their goal, more secrets about their pasts are revealed.
