The story is set in an universe where mankind is still engaged in a conflict with unknowable forces. The so-called cryosleep was placed on children who were evacuated during the invasion and lasted for several years. They discover when they wake up that their bodies have extraordinary abilities. They battle the invaders in the fortified cities of Tokyo, Kanagawa, and Chiba with the intention of driving away the unknowns.
