In the PriPara universe, any girl can achieve idol status. In PriPara, singing, dance, and fashion competitions feature both aspiring and established idols. Despite its widespread use, entering PriPara is prohibited at Laala Manaka's school, and the headmaster seizes any PriTickets needed to do so. Laala eventually makes it to PriPara however, where she meets Mirei, a future idol. Lala agrees to pair up with Mirei, and thus Lala makes her significant debut as an idol.
