Kobayashi lives by herself in her apartment until Tooru shows up one day out of the blue, and the two decide to live together. Tooru despises people and thinks they are stupid and inferior beings. Tooru, however, is willing to do anything to repay Kobayashi for saving her life. She assists Kobayashi with a variety of daily activities because of this, even when things don't always go as planned.
In the slice-of-life comedy Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, a diligent office worker who lives with a dragon girl is the main character.
