Takeshi Nanase lives a life in high school that is routine and uninteresting to the extreme. He maintains a fictitious connection with Kurumi Isoshima, a childhood friend, but doesn't carry it out and carries on with his regular life.
One day, he encounters a female wearing a uniform unlike any he has ever seen before. Soon later, he passes out on the schoolyard and finds himself in an entirely other life. The girl tells him that she is the magician Mui Aiba and that she has also turned him into a magician. Takeshi currently splits his time between the magical and non-magical worlds.
