Fantasy Girl Special Ops The anime adaptation of the same-named manga by Makoto Fukami and Seigo Tokiya, Asuka, centers on Mahou Shoujo Asuka, who has finally retired following her conflict with the Disas and now wishes to lead a typical life like any other young girl. Three years ago, the Disas, a frightening life form from the land of the dead, led humanity to the verge of calamity and nothing could stop them. The Disas were only defeated and beaten back thanks to the efforts of a group of girls who had been endowed with extraordinary abilities by an unknown source. Asuka was a part of the Mahou Shoujo Special Unit, which was made up of these girls.
Now that all five of them have adjusted to their new regular lives, Asuka is working to create the life she's always wanted, one filled with school, friends, and maybe even love, while one or more of the others have stayed in the military as instructors or researchers. But nothing in life goes as planned, and she is abruptly uprooted from her monotonous daily routine: The Mahou Shoujo Special Unit must once again stop the Disas because they have returned. But is Asuka actually prepared to abandon her desire for a normal life and reenlist in the military?
