The life of the student Yuuhi Amamiya is actually quite routine. But then one day Sir Noi Crezant, a talking lizard, approaches him and tells him a fascinating tale: There is a huge hammer in Earth's orbit that is about to demolish the planet. The dreaded archmage Animus is to blame for this, and Princess Samidare Asahina and her beast knights are the only ones capable of stopping him right now.
Crezant grants Yuuhi the ability to change into a lizard knight and join the battle before he fully comprehends what is happening. He is relieved to be able to defend himself when he is later attacked by a golem, despite all of his doubts. However, Animus is not the only adversary who wishes to wipe off Earth. Yuuhi quickly learns that the princess also pursues her own objectives, which puts him in a tough situation. These objectives can have disastrous consequences for humanity.
