A young man named Makoto Shiranui makes the trip to Tokyo to work as an apprentice for his parents' acquaintance and renowned magician Mamoru Hoshisato. He had the desire to become a magician ever since he attended a performance by Mamoru and his wife Maeve.
Makoto and her daughter Kana had been pals since they were young. Despite the fact that there have been some break-ins in Tokyo, Makoto may feel secure as long as Hatena is present.
