Grand Blue Dreaming is a slice of life comedy manga series written by Kenji Inoue and illustrated by Kimitake Yoshioka. It follows the story of Iori Kitahara, a college student who moves to his uncle's scuba diving shop in Izu called Grand Blue. There he meets various other characters who are all members of the scuba club at his college and they all get up to various hijinks together.
The series follows Iori as he adjusts to his new life living in a dive shop and attending college. Along the way he befriends Chisa Kotegawa, a fellow freshman at his school, as well as Ryuujirou Kotobuki, Shinji Tokita and Kohei Imamura; all members of the same scuba diving club. Together they experience various misadventures involving drinking, pranks, parties and more as they learn more about themselves and each other.
Grand Blue Dreaming is an ongoing series that has been running since 2012 with over 12 volumes released so far. It has gained immense popularity due to its unique blend of comedy, drama and slice-of-life elements that make it stand out from other manga titles. The anime adaptation premiered in 2018 and was met with positive reception both domestically and internationally.
