2071: Due to a meteorite hail, Earth has long been just marginally habitable, and humanity has migrated throughout the solar system. Particularly Mars is densely populated by humans. The bounty hunters Spike and Jet are now traveling through space in the spaceship "Bebop" in an effort to replenish their depleted bank accounts by apprehending wanted criminals. Despite frequently apprehending the desired individuals, something keeps the two from ever seeing even a single bill more than what they require to exist. The two encounter the independent and obstinate Faye and the small and large computer geniuses Ed along their voyage through the cosmos. Ein the dog is also traveling with them. The four also seek answers about their past in addition to the criminals.
