Castlevania is a dark medieval fantasy, and one of the most successful Japanese franchises in gaming history. Beginning with the release of the original Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles for the PlayStation Portable, each new sequel has been praised by critics and fans alike. Each title has spawned numerous spin-offs including manga series, anime, and two novelizations. The epic franchise continues its timeless legacy.
Growing up in a small village, Trevor Belmont was never a fan of the local customs. He much preferred spending time at his father's workshop, learning to forge weapons. At a young age he created his first sword from iron ore collected from a nearby cave. However when the castle town was caught up in one of Dracula's monstrous invasions, Trevor was forced to put down his sword and pick up a whip. In hopes of putting an end to the vampire curse that plagues their lands, Trevor and his childhood friends; Sypha Belnades and Grant Danasty go out on a quest to defeat Dracula.
