Sam (a friendship robot) loses communication with Prince Kelby of Bodica when Bodica is assaulted by strong invaders. She makes an effort to find him at Garas Castle, the Bodican royal family's customary refuge. To the dismay of the latter, she makes friends along the way with the maintenance bot Casey and the wanted criminal Philly the Kid. Philly is forced to carry Sam and Casey in the same direction as Kelby journeys to the keep under the protection of Odin, the captain of the royal guard. Even though their mode of transportation is a massive automobile that can change into a bull-like mecha by plugging in wires, the world is still a deadly place.
However, Philly has a secret weapon up his sleeve: a wizard's curse has made him eternal. However, this talent frequently results in amusing circumstances. Sam is also more complex than first appears, making her particularly hazardous to those who wish her new companions harm.
