The anime adaptation of Kei Amagi's light novel of the same name, Assassins Pride, transports viewers to a society in which aristocrats hold virtually all of the authority. The mana required to combat the terrible beasts that threaten humanity is only available to the nobles. Melida Angel, the young duke's daughter who studied magic at the academy, resides in this world. She brings embarrassment to her family while being an aristocracy and appearing to have no mana at all. Kufa Vampire, the young duke's son, is requested by her father. This tutor uses magic, therefore he now needs to look after the wandering daughter.
Kufa is an assassin on contract, thus he is far from being an ordinary tutor. And while his job is to instruct Melida, he also has the authority to kill her if she truly demonstrates no skill at all. But when he sees the young woman's emotions and resolve to survive, he challenges her! He chooses to show the world that Melida deserves to live, and in doing so, he risks his honor and prestige as an assassin. "Will you trust me with your life?" he begs Melida.
