Animal Crossing New Horizons is a video game made by Nintendo for the game console Nintendo Switch. Widely anticipated, the game was released in 2020 and is the 5th main title within Nintendo's Animal Crossing series. The 'life' simulation game lets you customize your own character as you embark to a deserted island after a meeting with the well known Tom Nook. Once at the island, players can explore the surroundings, farm/craft items, and fish with the main goal of turning their empty land into a booming community.

The game is played in "real-time" and has several missions that can be completed with the ability to visit other players islands. New Horizons has become Nintendo's 2nd top selling game for the Switch with over 20 million units sold. This nonlinear game series has been a popular staple for Nintendo for many years with its various customizable options and co-op play style making it a fun long-lasting game.
