Aharen-san, Raidou-new kun's benchmate, has not spoken to her once since they began sitting next to one another at school. But that all changes when Raidou picks up her fallen eraser in the middle of a class. Soon after, when she realizes she's forgotten her textbook and he helps her, she starts to gravitate toward him and wants to go out to lunch with him and then, after stopping by the arcade and karaoke first, go home with him. All of this occurs at a physical distance of no greater than 30 centimeters.
At first, Raidou-kun, who is utterly unaccustomed to such things, is unsure of how to handle it. Even more perplexing to him is the fact that the following morning, Aharen-san marches by him demonstratively and seats extra far away from him, just to hang in the crook of his arm once more when he helps her out again. Eventually, Aharen-san admits to him that she's always struggled with determining the required interpersonal distances, which is why she used to be avoided. For the first time in a long time, Raidou-kun was a classmate who would have welcomed her back as she is. But none of this alters the reality that Aharen's actions are still completely incomprehensible.
