A3! Cosplay

Izumi Tachibana used to frequently go to the MANKAI ensemble's theater on Veludo Way to see her father at work as a director. She eventually had aspirations of becoming an actor herself, but after being told she lacked the necessary skills, her trips quickly came to an end. Isuke Matsukawa, the theater's manager, sends Izumi, a young adult, a letter that is actually meant for her father, who has been missing for eight years.

Izumi visits the theater and is startled to learn that it is in debt to a yakuza, shockingly a particular Sakyou Furuichi who she used to know as a child. Sakuya Sakuma is the sole surviving member of the ensemble, which makes things worse. Izumi, however, is unwilling to simply give in; instead, she strikes a compromise with Sakyou and temporarily prevents the theater from closing.

This is just the start, though, as the MANKAI ensemble originally included four well-known troupes, so this is just the beginning. These performed almost all year long and were given the names spring, summer, autumn, and winter in accordance with the general tone of their performances. Izumi has no time to relax at all because her duties as the new director need her to reunite these troupes and support their success. She must first enlist additional people for the spring troupe and fulfill another promise she made to Sakyou: at least one sold-out performance must occur within a month.
